DESCRIPTION OF THE FRUIT

The passion fruit is a refreshing tropical fruit with a bittersweet flavor that some find similar to the apricot, with a strong, pleasant scent. It is a round or oval-shaped berry measuring 4 to 10 cm in diameter, yellow in color, with a bittersweet flavor.

 

It is fleshy and juicy, with a gelatinous pulp lined with a thick, waxy, and delicate peel. The pulp contains numerous small seeds. The color exhibits great differences depending on the variety, ranging from yellow to reddish-purple.
